Bottles and cans and paper and plastic and and and

Spending the morning thinking about the trash that comes from your house. Have I mentioned lately how much I love last night's garbage?

Bottles and cans and just clap your hands. Blogs documenting things around us seem to be on the upsurge. Have you seen the Photoshop Disasters site? Big fun.

I'll have to check it out. How's the trash in your hood?

So timely, this post. Yesterday was trash day in my neighborhood and I was noticing that nearly every clear recycling bag had 1 or more big stoneybrook farms yogurt container. We Park Slopers sure love our yogurt!

Does NYC have compost collection? Since they started that in Toronto, I have had a miraculous garbage transformation...put out about one bag of "straight to the landfill" stuff a month...everything else I can kinda imagine goes into recycling/ composting/ etc...weird to think of what we used to throw away, in the "olden days" of 1990.

No, but I have a compost in my back yard and there are gardens nearby that will take food waste.

Growing up, we never threw a on of stuff away. Between the compost pile, donating stuff to the Salvy and my parents' hoarding habits, there was never a ton of stuff going out. But we did live near a municipal dump so I guess trash could have gone out at unusual times.
