It was absorbing when I wanted to be absorbed.

I am almost finished the short story book now. The quality really varies in the stories--but I will tell you more about that soon!Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11333774834458788336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12974012.post-13854835432737120672009-03-09T16:24:00.000-04:002009-03-09T16:24:00.000-04:00My thoughts exactly about the book.I think Clarke ...My thoughts exactly about the book.

I think Clarke did a great job creating a whole world and I was willing to put up with some of the more tedious moments because it was mostly fun and interesting and different.

There is a companion book to this one: The Ladies of Something or Other...short stories some of which are related to the novel itself. Then the second round of critics came in, and everyone loved the beginning, but found it ultimately tedious. At that point, we could barely remember how much it was initially enjoyed. And now you are bringing it back around to the wonder that everyone first experienced, transforming my somewhat drab memories of it into nostalgic ones. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
